Rivers like the Ashburton, Rangitata and Rakaia all produce some fine Salmon
for the keen Fisherman. Where the Mountains offer Climbing, Deerstalking,
Back country Boating in the lakes during summer and Skiing and Ice skating
in the winter. |

drive and give the kids some time out. A visit to the Ashburton Domain will
be a welcome relief, where a stroll around the park, a play and some Bird
Watching will reduce the stress. |

Just south of Ashburton are some
true hidden treasures at Tinwald Domain and Recreation Park. From
Swimming pools to cool off in summer, The Plains Railway and Historic
Village to model train rides. Take a picnic or visit the Stables Family
Restaurant. |

Situated on East Street is the
Ashburton Information Centre. Here you will find all types of other things
to see and do. Regular events are held like the monthly Flea Market on West
Street Car park, Summer Market Day at Ashford Craft Village and Speedway at
the Airport Raceway during winter. |
