For those who consider
themselves fit, a Walk along the Pakihi Track off the Old Motu road,
will lead you to the Pakihi Valley near Opotiki on the coast. Being a 1 to 2
day walk or 6 Hours on Mountain Bike it is one of the many walks available
around Gisborne. But for those who wish to stroll through the scenic native
Bush in this area a 5 km easy walk, for all ages, can take you down hill all
the way to the Motu Falls not far from Matawai on the Opotiki Gisborne
Highway. |

Hunting

Fly Fishing the Gisborne area can
be one of the most rewarding in New Zealand. "Motu Fishing" can guide you to
their favourite spots or even take you hunting on the inland ranges. Also
the East Coast has one key attraction and that is Fishing. Many Fishing
Charters operate from the inner harbour port, offering deep sea fishing and
underwater diving.

While swimming in the
sea gives you fun in the surf, a quiet soak in the hot mineral pools at "Morere
Hot Pools", will sooth those acing bones. The Gisborne Olympic Pool is
also heated with Water slides and like Morere has a BBQ area and play
pools for the whole family. |

Collectables

With the history of
Gisborne going back to the early 1800's there are many collectables to be
found. One place that has nearly all is the "East Coast museum of
Technology". A maze of memorabilia. Your trip to Gisborne would not be
complete with out a stroll around this collection.
