Quiet Moorings

The inner Harbour around Mount Maunganui shelters the many pleasure craft and offers ideal wind surfing and canoeing activities.   The Sheltered beach attracts the small families who like to stay away when the Surf is up.

But when the surf does come rolling in the seas come alive to the challenge.   Like most ocean beaches, where the sand is white and the breeze is up, the surf rolls in.   For those that value dry land there is the challenge of a stroll or run, on the walking tracks up the Mountain to spectacular scenic views of coast and land.

Not enough room

Don't worry, be Happy there's Miles  and Miles of beach to hide away at.   Papamoa stretches way into the distance, where one can loose ones self, cast a line in and on a good day just watch the fish twitching the Line.   Catch the Night Skies  over the Maketu inlet and Bird sanctuary.

Land of Kiwi fruits

New Zealand Kiwi fruit larger than you have ever seen before.   Te Puke, a growers town, is just down the road from Tauranga.   With all it's fruits and veggies waiting for you at the side of the road.   Some orchards offer guided tours through the many rows of vines, offering a taste of their wines, ice creams and many more wondrous delights.

Motoring Fascination

Visit the Te puke Auto Barn, more than 70 vintage and Classic cars, some even for sale.   A fascinating part of history in the world of the Automobile. Also a collection of classic horticultural equipment, probably use by the growers of days gone by.

True Nature

Tauranga offers many great walks through some of New Zealand's Untouched Native Bush.   Many Parks and Reserves have well established walkways. The Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Parks can take you through Old Gold Mines Water falls and even Kauri Dams of long ago.
