Pleasant Point Station

A short drive from Timaru, only 16 km's, is Pleasant Point. Here you will be amazed at the history and activities of the area. From bare footed blacksmiths turning out works of art to the worlds only 1925 Model T Ford Railcar.

Steaming Days are all go.

On steaming Days, mainly weekends and Holidays, the railway along side the road to Pleasant Point is full of action.  Travel on lovingly restored Steam engines from the historic Pleasant Point Station to the Museum where you can view old time movies, old railway engines and lots of memorabilia.

Adventure

For those who love a little adventure, "Rangitata Rafts" can take you on an awesome day trip, water rafting  the Rangitata River just north of Geraldine. Canoe operators, also run trips down the river for those who like to tame the rapids using only their personal skills. IF you choose not to get wet then take a 4X4 Tour to the Wild South Canterbury Out Back.
