Many walk ways and tracks surround Turangi, like the Lake Rotopounamu
Walk on your way to the Tongariro National Park. The Park is seen from the rest area at
Lake Rotoaira, part of the Hydro Scheme, channels and underground power stations. Guided

| Thermal Mountains
|
Turangi, being close to the Tongariro National Park, is on the Volcanic
Loop. Make Skiing on a Live Volcano one of your New Zealand Adventures. On return to
Turangi you may then relax in the Thermal Pools at Tokaanu. |
| Boaties Paradise
|
For those who love the calm of Fresh waters, many Charter Boats offer
cruises and Trout Fishing Adventures around Turangi. Hire boats are also available from
the Motuoapa Marina, just north of Turangi. Also if you have your own boat there are many
safe inlets and bays for anchorage. |
