Marine Playground

A spectacular marine playground exists off the coast of Kaikoura and living in this environment is the mighty Sperm Whale. It is here that resident bachelors dive to immense depths in search of Giant Squid, so accessible to Sperm Whales but still elusive to mankind.

Many visitors come to Kaikoura to view these magnificent Mammals in their own environment 12 months of the year and Kaikoura Helicopters gives you the opportunity to do so in an exhilarating, comfortable and affordable manner.

Mountain Tops.

Heli-hiking and Mountain Landings will take you to Show capped mountains and dramatic scenery in the Seaward Kaikoura Ranges. Snow capped for many months of the year, they rise from the sea level to 2800 metres within a very short distance.

Heli-hiking 1

(Easy to medium hike)
1 to 2 day duration.

Cost:$500.00 per trip
1 to 4 people.

This hike includes a helicopter drop from Kaikoura township to the Mt Fyffe summit (5256ft) where you will experience sensational views of the Kaikoura Peninsula and surrounding areas. An overnight stay at the Mt Fyffe Hut is optional but well worth the sun-rise the next Morning.

Heli-hiking 2

(medium-hard hike)
1 to 3 day duration.

Cost: $500.00 per trip
1 to 4 People.

This hike includes a helicopter drop at Mt Fyffe summit (5256ft). Overnight stay at the Mt Fyffe Hut, making your way to the Kowhai River Hut for your second night and out along the Kowhai River the following day.
