A Walk in the Park

Like Auckland Domain there are many parks, where one can stroll in the evening sun. Western Springs, where the stadium comes alive at night to the sound  of music, has a daily calm  offering sanctuary to the large bird and wildlife of the area.

Breeding our New Zealand icon, the Kiwi, at the Auckland Zoo is like many of the programs run in conjunction with the Department of Conservation. Explore the magical Parklands of the Auckland Zoo all part of the fascinating area of Western Springs.

Chuff Chuff Squeak

You may not remember the Steam rollers of our forefathers but there is much to see at MOTAT. The Museum of Transport and Technology of New Zealand. From printing to Lancaster Bombers, even a fully restored Tramway takes you around the Western Springs area stopping off at the Park and Zoo.

Maritime City

From old sailors to Americas cup skippers, there is lots to see and do in the City of Sails. New Zealand maritime history comes alive at the Maritime Museum. Old and new line the harbour edge at the Viaduct Basin, where one can Charter a cruise with charters like the Pride of Auckland or just watch others from the trendy Cafes and Bars. Many maritime type activities, Harbour cruising, Kayaking, Fishing, Skiing and lots lots more.

Close Encounter

There maybe the odd shark out in the big blue yonder, but for a close encounter of the safe kind, an experience of the underwater world of Kelly Tarlton's will leave you in awe. Antarctica, another wild adventure can also be experienced in the frozen depths of Kelly Tarlton's. Penguins play as you pass by in  the Heated Snow Cats, taking the journey of a life time, on this frozen landscape.

Family Thrills

If fun for the whole family is your goal, then where better to achieve it than Rainbow's End. Being New Zealand's largest and friendliest theme park, there's something for all. Extreme corkscrew rollercoaster, the log flume, Dodgems to crazy mine carts, not to mention dream castle for the little ones.

Night Lights

When Auckland lights come on so does the entertainment. 24 hour casino, live theatre, cinema and a variety of night clubs. A City of Sails would not be complete without the fresh seafood cuisine, many innovative sidewalk cafes and waterfront restaurants offer. A visit to Sky Tower and casino can take you by elevator to the highest and best view of Auckland, day or night.

Reflect the Day

As your day ends a quiet drive around the water front of Auckland will help reflect the many activities and attractions you have experienced. The lights of the city may glow all night, Ski Tower no exception, but for some the day will end.
