Historical highlights, just north of Kerikeri include Kemp House,
New Zealand's oldest home built by John Butler in 1822. The Stone Store, established in
1836, became the Mission Store, a must see for visitors with a love of history.

New Zealand's most historic site. The Treaty of Waitangi, was signed
here by the Maori and Europeans in 1840. The Treaty House stands proud along with the
Fully Carved Maori Meeting House on this peaceful estate. |

Largest Maori War Canoe on display at Waitangi, overlooking Paihia Beach and the Bay of

 | Hug a Kauri

Many Bush walks, like those of the Puketi Forests Manginangina Boardwalk
suitable for all ages, will lead you two some of New Zealand's finest Kauri Forests.
Tours take in these awesome attractions, along with the local
knowledge of how the Kauri Gum and Timbers were harvested. Today Kauri is
retrieved from the swamplands and used for all types of furniture and crafts
offered in this area. |
