The Emerald Terrace
As you cross Lake Ohakuri by boat,
the Emerald Terrace seems to grow larger.This silicon terrace is the largest of its kindin New Zealand and is about
20 metres thick. It continues another
35 metres under the Lake.
Diamond Geyser.
Its eruptions are unpredictable,
lasting a few minutes to sometimes
many hours,
ejecting boiling water as high as 8 metres.It gets its name from the way it shatters its water jetinto millions of droplets whichsparkle like diamonds in the sunlight.
